The Meeting on Regional Trade and Investment for the Americas is designed to foster an exchange of views on key issues on the trade agenda where opportunities exist for cooperation or progress that may contribute to post-pandemic economic recovery and sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The event will focus on three topics which are central to a modern trade agenda: (1) Strengthening value chains and attracting investment; (2) Sustainable trade and climate change; and (3) Digital economy.
The general objective of the meeting is to foster deeper regional cooperation and public-private collaboration that allows for increased, sustainable and resilient intra-regional trade and promotes economic growth and development.
The specific objectives are:
- Identify areas where technical opportunities and shared interests would allow concrete progress in regional trade.
- Provide a setting for Ministers to discuss shared goals and potential future collaborative work on the meeting topics.
- Foster dialogue with high-level private sector leaders.

The meeting will be held in English and Spanish. Simultaneous interpretation in those languages will be provided at the event.
